| Introduction | pyruvate kinase is a key enzyme in the glycolysis pathway that catalyzes the conversion of phosphoenolpyruvate to enol pyruvate, and produce ATP, so it has an important physiological role. Pyruvate kinase is widely distributed in the human body, there are four kinds of isoenzymes, divided into L, R, M1 and M2. L type only exists in liver parenchyma, kidney and small intestinal mucosa, R type only exists in mature red blood cells, M1 type exists in brain and muscle, M2 type except skeletal muscle, it is widely distributed in various tissues, especially in kidney and malignant tumor cells. In normal adult liver is mainly L-type, and in the fetus is mainly R-type. |
